Film Studies
Film Studies presents the appreciation and study of cinema to diverse audiences. Providing a platform for scholarly thinking and writing, Film Studies offers courses, which focus on the language of film (FA258, Understanding the Film), how films reflect the time in which they were made (FA257 Films and Society), and the great film directors which make them (FA266 The Great Film Directors).
The curriculum offers students the opportunity to examine cinema as a social force, as a visually narrative art form, and as an industry that is changing the face of the communications medium.
