I teach because I believe in the transforming power of education. Education can be the path to fulfilling work, and many students attend Mt. Hood Community College for career opportunities. But an education that merely leads to a certificate or a degree is wasted indeed. Education also offers skills that we can use as students, as citizens, as employees, and as members of a community.
